We are currently recruiting for a Principal Solutions/J2EE Architect on behalf of one of the largest IT companies world wide. The successful candidate will be required to career manage a team of Architects/Designers and provide design services to bid teams/delivery projects. An experienced practitioner, you should have a strong technical background necessary to lead application design of potentially very large and complex solutions. Knowledge of modern development methodologies isessential as is the ability to communicate clearly and appropriately with a broad range of stakeholders. This role requires flexibility and some mobility, as projects may be delivered from many locations within UK or possibly in Europe. Mandatory skills for this role include development methodologies e.g. Unified Process, Scrum, UML, practical experience of development environments espcially modern IDEs (Eclipse) and range of tools (e.g. RSA/RSD, DOORS/RequisitePro, PVCS/Subversion, Maven/Ant, PMD, Quality Centre, Junit, Clover, CruiseControl, Jira, etc), experience of thick/thin Client solutions (e.g. Ajax, JSP Servlets, Struts, Citrix, etc), Web services (SOAP/XML), directory services and messaging (LDAP), RDBMS (Oracle and SQLServer) and JDBC and development with WebLogic/AquaLogic, WebSphere, Interstage or Oracle Application Server.
